This month out very own forum member Brian (not to be confused with Brian Robinson) makes his guest review debut with his evaluation of Pacifique.

Pacifique Review
The review suggests a 5:1 dilution.

Why so high a ratio of water to absinthe on this one?

Mike R.

PS - This one is on my "need to try" list.

Pacifique Review
One to each own. I drink Pacifique 1:3, at 1:4.5 it is still good, although 1:5 is not my ratio for that particular brand. Nevertheless, the higher ratio, more oils come out and if the absinthe is well-made and Pacifique is such an absinthe, more nuances are to be experienced on the palate, if absinthe got skrewed somehow, it will get overwatered (see with Belle Amie #1 or Marteau, or even Un Emile).

Knowing Brian (not to be confused with Brian Robinson Wink), he can be trusted.
Thanks for your trust Boggy!

5:1 worked best for me for the reasons Tits stated.

It's a lovely absinthe! It kinda broke to the formula for post-ban American absinthes (take an old recipe and add a new ingredient) Pacifique take and old recipe and reintroduces it to a new generation. It gets points for both approach and execution!
Word.
I agree totally with Brian, especially the comment about the formula. Been waiting for that development.
Brian, looks like you have the approval of the people! We'll have to have you as a guest reviewer again. Smile
Nice review Brian! It may be my next new try! Thanks!
Just to let the gang know, the Pacific Distillery website is finally more than just a splash page.
