Thank you!
At various times and in various countries, I have worked on Don Julio (UK/India), Jose Cuervo/1800 (S.E. Asia/Korea), and Cabo Wabo (Canada, Russia, China and Australia). So I have a bit of inside knowledge of an assortment of tequilas.
As I see it, tequila and absinthe have quite a bit in common. Lots of people get wasted the first time they try them, and vow never to go back. Then they discover something much better ..
Any tequila preferences?
Ahem, I meant Boggy, but I'd be happy to share some with you too.
As for preferences, my go-to tequilas right now are Corzo Silver, Casa Noble Anejo, and Milagro Reposado.
For special occasions, I really like a group of tequilas from a company called
Tequila Rack. They are fantastic.
I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my order of
T-1 tequilas. I don't know when they are coming in though.
Mezcals from Del Maguey are quickly becoming a favorite beverage of mine too. They are like a wonderful combination of the best qualities of tequila and the best of Scotch, all rolled up into one tasty package.
So any takers for Patron? This seems to be "tequila for people who don't like tequila." Smooth or bland, depending on one's perspective.
More than 20 million bottles sold in the US in 2008. But on my trip to the US in fall 2008, the only person I found who drank it was my Miami taxi driver who mixes it with Hennessy ...
I only use it in cocktails for people who like fru-fru mixed drinks. Notice I make a distinction between REAL cocktails and fru-fru ones.
I usually limit my tequila consumption to Pavel's Worm Spirit with Tequila flavor onacuz it adds protein to my diet.
Not trying to start another fight, but Del Maguey isn't tequila, it's mezcal. And it's absolutely fab.

I don't blame you for ignoring my posts.
I love them all. I'd say that my favorite amongst them (and this might surprise you) is not the most expensive. While the Pechuga is fantastic, I actually prefer the Santo Domingo Albarradas. It's spicier, whereas the Pechuga is more citrusy. But I'd drink any of them.
I've also found the Del Maguey Crema de Mezcal quite intriguing. Good for sipping while you're eating icecream or chocolate.
Interesting. The rest of the world is way behind the US on tequila, especially on the more expensive ones. I hear that 99% of Patron global sales are in the US, and it's probably similar on most of the other even more esoteric lines. I'll only see some of the ones you guys are mentioning next time I'm in LA or NYC.
I'd guess that Grand Rapids doesn't have such a good selection ...

Not today they didn't. Too many fookin' college kids trying to stay out of the rain, I couldn't hear myself think enough to think about what to buy.
To be fair, it's gameday tomorrow, and the smart students are stocking up so they don't have to make any liquor runs throughout the day.
Aww come on now... I cannot say much because I am still a college student. Although, when I actually attended the on campus parties (whether it be the frat or sorority parties) I typically only drank from the keg from the float....hmm maybe that was just my school too...college years...miss those sometimes lol
oh excuses excusses.....I'm fucked up on 6X40z shots of absinthe..with a few liters of dunkel wiess...I am a highly functioning alcoholic though..I'm at chico state hahgahha typical right....I'm that asshole who actually fills the keg.... ps fuck frats and hoe bag parties...i like how you have a mexican quote but do not understand teq....bah fuck it in the brown eye
Okay that's my sign to leave the forum for a while. It was nice while it lasted, but I really do hate waking up to reading stuff from the night before and I guess I will just go be with all my hoe bag friends from now on. P.S... thanks for reminding me why I never post on these stupid things

Yeah, that did seem to be the reasoning. Although they were buying alot of booze it seemed, versus beer. Maybe it's just U of M!
Ashley, the trick is you don't READ the stuff from the night before, or if you do, realize it's JUST from the night before. Don't mean nuttin'.

Yet another successful purging of potential contributors...

Shame. And she probably won't be the only one in the future.

Depends on the do. Me and the boys all had our own bottle of something on game days. For example, one guy always had a fifth of vodka in one hand and a 2-litre of grape soda in the other. Another did the same with Jack and Coke. There were always beers there too, but those are what you drink in between your
drinks. And depending on how dedicated, we'd get drunk the night before, and then sleep in until the first game was on ESPN and just make a whole day of it and hope we lasted until it was time to walk over to the stadium. Rough.
wow my bad. way out of line reading that my bad I just really dislike that college culture maybe its different where you are from...i didn't mean to offend you...I relize being drunk is never an excuse but do not hold your grudge against this forum because it is a great knowledge base with quite the collection of personalities ...Idk I just really hate tools which tend to be attracted to that lifestyle...I can be your pee n buddah if you'd like but don't take it out of the forum...my bad.
I ended up in back of a truck bed smoking pot with a can collector....then going to the bar with my buddies where this coke dealer bought me a few drinks a deer fart crown n bailies ,a beer, and a shot of henn...then left had another 3, 4oz viles of absinthe with another budlight..some guy tried to fight me because I zoned out and claimed i was doggin him...I pissed off another gal cause I said why the fuck is that dumb hooker walking by herself...that was fun Idk how I got out of that one without a heel to the dome...uummm got my boy laid by referring to him as jim horsecock that was the first time it worked in a month I basically just over all made an ass of myself...had my self a jack nd coke then capped my night off with making mac nd cheese at 3 am...last night was wierd
Quote:fifth of vodka
5 bots? That's the spirit!
Thanks God, I do not have to deal with any colleges/schools/universities anymore*. And I do not drink at all**.
*unless you count being on the other side of the barricade as Speedle's proclaimed "Professor of English Studies".
**of course, I am joking. I do not drink at all today but will come back in shape.
Tits: fifth = 1/5 gallon = 750ml
Homebrewnorcal: How dare you marginalize frats and srats and their parties. Shame on you, that was just out of line and it offends me.
if you belonged to a fraternity you should know its not to be called a frat...lets see they have killed several people with hazing, sell coke in the bars, rape girls and get away with it, the gals have no self respect, they look great with zero personality...I feel like I talk to a rock...gal in a sorority just died from mixing drugs and taking a sleeping pill...Like i clarified its its mainly here (and Berkeley) where I have fraternity experience... i realize its not everyone but there are enough of them...sorry if you take offense that is your choice to do so
