The most visited absinthe man on Myspace, "Absinthe Drinkers" (Krazy J) was kind enough to give me a report on some of the newer absinthe releases yesterday. I did not ask permission to post the photos yet, so for the time being, you can see louche photos in my comments section at the bottom of the page:

Biosinthe: "Biosinthe is sooo good dude, you'll love it I promise! Very nice aroma, nice but faint natural green color, AMAZING louche so perfect, and the taste is wow! Wormwood is for sure right up front and a nice hint of Anise follows, kind of a floral hint to it as well. Pick it up for sure."

Soixante Cinq: "Hey just opened the Soixante Cinq so thought I'd give my thoughts to ya. From the aroma and taste you can tell its a wine alcohol base. Nice bright green color as you can tell in the pic. Nice louche, nothing too fancy but builds up very nice, not too fast or to slow. The taste is nice, nothing super special but still very enjoyable! Pretty much a basic Absinthe. Also didn't know if you knew or not but its from Devoille, I think you told me once you were not to fond of their brands. This one however is not as thick and "milky" in the louche as the others I have had from Devoille, like I said its pretty basic. Still kinda has that Devoille taste that I can tell is there from all the brands they have."

Also, I cracked open Deniset absinthe for the first time tonight. Golden colour, thought the nose was rather bland, in the vein of Un Emile 45, but not as good. Equally bland taste, bit too much star anise at the forefront, waxy. My suggestion is to skip it. Got a closeout priced litre of Kallnacher as well, I still have a soft spot for it.Smile
I really liked the Soixante Cinq. I opened my bottle with OMG_Bill a month or two ago.
I got bottle of Biosinthe too, and I like it as well. But whole idea about "bio" absinthe is kinda funny. Every producer, who grows his own plants got "bio" quality. Look at Claude-Alain herb fields or superb Kirk production. Thats what I call bio.
Who makes Biosinthe? Soixante Cinq is utter crap. Has Deniset's formula been finally improved?

Since I have had that, L'Enjoleuse and La Coquette, I am still of an opinion the best what Devoille had to offer was unfiltered Verte de Fou. Maybe the problems with L'E and 65 are caused by wrongly-understood recipes and Devoille makes them how he is given them?

L'E is a tad weaker that La Coquette but they are very akin. 65 seems to be diluted L'E. As a blunt, one-dimensional absinthe ordinaire it serves its purpose, but...
I just did a side by side comparison the other night with L'Enjoleuse, La Coquette and Soixante Cinq. I preferred the Enjoleuse and 65 over the Coquette, and I especially liked the more floral aroma from the 65. But that's just me. I still have yet to try the VdF, but I plan on doing that soon.

Absinth24 has the producer of Biosinthe listed as "Cannax"...I'm not familiar with them.

Not one sip from my glass of Deniset made me want to pour another, so probably not. Smile But then that was the first time I tasted it, so I can't speak for it changing or not.
They make that, too: http://absinth24.net/absinthe/product_in...b69iqo0gc0

"Biosinthe is the world's first Absinthe made from 100% organically grown.
To secure its gentle aroma it’s been produced in small batches. Veteran distiller Fedor Back composed this
absinthe using the finest organic wine alcohol and selected herbs. Biosinthe is a completely organic distillate,
which doesn’t contain additional sugar or any other additions. The storage in oak barrels gives this absinthe
its characteristic aroma and harmonic smell, as well as its soft and balanced taste!"

Who's Fedor Back:huh::huh::huh::huh::huh::huh::huh::huh::huh::huh:
