I just bought a box of it on a whim and thought I'd check it out.
Makes my whole cupboard smell like very herby absinthe! Even destroys coffee smells! And that's before I opened the box!
Boiling some water now... will let you know what I think.

Looks like wee in a cup.
Steeped for about three or four minutes, very lovely indeed! Wonderful aroma, not too powerful.
I tried Twinings Sweet Fennel tea.
Photo on Twitpic. (only half brewed at that point)
It'll do more than help your cupboard smell good. Fennel is a carminative.
Well that's a nice bonus- I just bought it for the flavour, not to combat any brass bands in the back of the house!

my favorite Indian restaurant here has a dish of fennel seeds for breath freshening, I guess .

I hope these aren't meant to be analogous metaphors.
(Maybe just the first.)

)))
analogous metaphors rule
Ha! (must find fennel tea now)
One more ting to add to the grocery list, have not had this in ages. I usually stick with the loose-leaf offerings from Tea Avenue (who doesn't carry fennel tea), but shit now I want some of this...
Are you guys regular tea drinkers?
Stand down wind 'til you get you some, huh, Ben.
How many here are regular tea smokers? (I hear it's in that new Philly liqueur Root.)
I drink a good bit of Yerba Mate.
Nice alternative to coffee .
I heard there was tea in Root, what do you mean smoked? Are you saying there are people who smoke tea, AND that smoked tea is in Root? Why, this is all quite new to me!
Quote:Smoked Black Tea
Our smoked black tea gives ROOT its distinctive tea notes, burnished rose-gold hue, and delicate hints of smokiness. Instead of being dried in the sun like most other teas, the organic lapsang souchong tea we use is smoked over a pine fire to impart the necessary flavor requirements
Now get yourself some authentic jazz recordings to complete the ambience while pondering the possibilities.
Hmmm....pine fire. This was sounding attractive until I read that. Well, mebbe if it's cheap I'll buy some, it still sounds intriguing. Fennel tea first though.
I like tea, but I'm an outcast in THE country of tea drinkers.
Forgive me father for I do not take milk in my tea.
[a sigh of contempt and disbelief hisses across the British horizon]
I was only a black tea and green tea drinker really, but I've begun to like vanilla rooibos, red berries, and now fennel.
Hey, drink what you enjoy. I know a lot of people here that don't add milk, either. I like milk tea sometimes but it really depends on what type I'm drinking. I have some organic green tea with dried strawberries that is good with milk; if you use just the right amount of milk it looks like light strawberry milk...
I think only chai really requires milk absolutely, otherwise, meh, I could live either way. I gotta say though, fennel tea with milk sounds sorta like absinthe with milk, i.e. not so good. OTOH, I have been known (maybe I should post this in the secret area!) to dump a capful of Ricard in some milk at the end of the day, which tastes surprisingly delicious.
Agreed, agreed, and I must try that sometime.
Just don't buy it from, well, you know where, over on 28th.

Rooibos is my fave, though fennel sounds yummy.
Fennel Tea is also called baby tea in Germany. It is often given to babies to aid with digestion and to help quiet them down. Further proof that absinthe is good for you!

And here I just thought it'd be tasty! It's got all kinds of goodness! (I think I may prefer it to green tea...)
absinthe aids my digestion and helps quiet me and my soul down ...
