The Absinthe Event of the Year: December 5th!

This Saturday it will be a night to remember.  An absinthe presentation and celebration, this will be the first-ever absinthe event on this scale for the Houston area.  Master photographer and longtime absinthe enthusiast Damian Hevia will be hosting the festivities along with legendary distiller Ted Breaux and historian Jay Hendrickson.  They have drawn the attention of the press with the vision of this event, including this past week with an excellent article about the event from Houston Art Week

If you live in Texas, get your shoes on.  If you live elsewhere, grab your car keys...it will be worth the drive.

The Judgement of Le Tourment Vert

~October 31st, 2009~

The day has come.

It is most appropriate that this review would come on a night of horrors such as Halloween, as few things come to mind as more agonizing than reviewing Le Tourment Verte.  You may have heard a lot of things about LTV.  "It's available on airplanes!", "it's great for cocktails!", or perhaps "it's for people who aren't that fond of anise".  Friends, I'm here today to share the TRUTH about Le Tourment Vert.  If you have any interest in absinthe (or justice), please take a few minutes to read the judgement of LTV.

The Pacifique Experience

This month at TARN, we're joined by an absinthe enthusiast of over 15 years to deliver the verdict on one of the most anticipated US releases in the past year, Pacifique absinthe!  As you can see from the photo above, his photography skills are nothing to scoff at, either.  I think I need to invest in one of those fancy lit displays one of these days!  The verdict on Pacifique.

Hustle on back come the 28th of this month, as we celebrate our 2nd anniversary!

Walton Waters and Vieux Carre Special with Spirits Review!

It's been too long, truly.  We have two more US absinthe brands reviewed, and the US-streak will continue into the fall.  And yes, that includes the long-awaited review of...*ahem*, a brand I have been a vocal critic of.

But let's not get ahead of ourselves.  In the meantime, we have a double main event of epic proportions.  Round one of the Delaware Phoenix offerings, Walton Waters absinthe; does Ms. Lins' absinthe live up to the promises?  Also on tonight's card is the newly formed duo of TARN and Spirits Review teaming up to discuss and review Vieux Carre Absinthe.

And don't forget, we're only a few weeks away from the 2nd anniversary of Absinthe Review Network!  What surprises and shocking revelations await?  Tune in on September 28th to find out!
